Question ok here is a fog light question..

i just bought a set of factory fog lights and brackets from someone for my sentra.. (WHICH ARE BROKEN THANKS YOU LYEING BASTARD!) anyways.. i need to know.. do these brackets screw onto the three holes on the bumper cover? because the fogs are just gonna bounce around and do that really annoying motorcycle light flashing thing i hate over bumpy roads.. or does it screw onto the bumper itself? the peice made of fiberglass im talking about.. i looked in the HANES manual.. and there is NOTHING on fog lights!!!!.. can you believe that??? could someone please help me out on this one.. thanks.. Travis

sorry to hear what happened...

from what i remember on my car , when i took off my front bumper cover the fogs were attached somewhere on the frame under the metal bumper , and all that the plastic cover does is cover the ugliness and nothing else .

They are not attached to the bumper. I found that out when replacing a fog light bulb ( which was a bitch by the way). I think there are three spots that the fog light needs to be attached to. The two screws that go in from the front are 10mm and you need a socket to screw them in. Then you need to go under the car and there is one more spot to hook up. That bottom spot is critical in the aiming of the fogs. There is also a screw that adjust the aiming of the fog lights in the front.

you are BOTH right ..... the BRACKETS ... which he didnt have on the car before , mount to the bottom part of the structural bumper.... behind the bumper cover... and the fog lights themselves have 3 mounting points on the brackets which are 10mm bolts. ... very easy and the holes should be in the bumper already.

thats what i thought.. i noticed these holes often a while back when putting aftermarket fogs down there... now.. i understand everything now.. except.. the bottom screw.... if the top two screws are mounted to the bumper frame... then.. where does the bottom screw get mounted to? and i understand the whole aiming thing.. i noticed that option on the brackets when i first saw it.. thanks.. Travis

Get under the car. There should be something on the fog light that sticks out straight out from the back. You have to line that hole up w/ the piece that you connect to the car. I know its not a very good description but it is kinda car to describe without a picture.

oh i ment to mention that i saw this tab coming out of the port where the fogs go.. this tab has a hole on it.. is this what the bottom of the fog light connects too.. if so .. why the hell would the factory have the fogs connected in ANY way to the bumper cover.. that would mean bouncing right? oh well.. im gonna try it soon here.. and let you guys know how i did.. Later.. Travis
