so my AC was blowing warm air. I checked all the lines, only visually, for leaks.. so there could be leaks. I was in a hurry, so i went to pep boys and got a pen style pressure gauge and a can of refrigerant. When i came home and tested with the pressure gauge, it wouldnt work.. so i just put the regrigerant in. Its was cool, but not cold and just left it like until i get another pressure gauge. Its been about 2 days now, and when i turn the ac on it doesnt work at all and after a couple minutes.. some DUSTY particles come out of the vents. Im a little worry about this.. did i overcharge it?
Or maybe the evaporator core is blown.I dunno.I'd have it checked by someone who knows A/C systems and is reputable! There are a lot of disreputable shops out there, so get some refrences.

k, so now the blower runs normal, but the AC blows warm air. And if i turn the blower on for heat or ac, there's this whining noise coming from under the glove compartment and gets louder as i increase the speed. Im guessing its the header core, but i dont wanna replace it cause i kno how much of a bitch it can be. Ya, i've tooken AC class, but i didnt pay attention very well.
my man what pen type pressure gauge are you talking about?? the one that u use to measure the tire pressure.. i hope it is not the one or you gotta be kidding.. listen you need to buy the ac refill kit that comes with a pressure gauge in it (the gauge looks like a speedometer ok..you can buy it at pep boy autozone etc..) you need to check pressure on the low port when the ac is running .. the pressure needs to be in the green zone of gauge, if it is low refill it with the instrucations in the kit... you need to fiil it when the car is running and the ac should be on ok??..if you think this is too complicated then take it to a mechanic.. otherwise i am afraid you re gonna f/u your ac and it is gonna cost you an arm and a leg to get it fixed...
LOL no. im not that stupid. I got a pressure gauge that is a pen type that they sell at the AC part of pep boys. I just wanted to see the pressure, so i can fill it with the refrigerant. I guess i should've just bought the can with the pressure gauge on it instead.. Anyways, how do i check the ambient pressure in the ducts? i remeber learning about it but forget, i kno u gotta put like a turkey thermometor on it..
First and formost, before you add anything, is the compressor kicking on? If not, jump the low pressure switch or ground out the A/C COMPRESSOR relay. If the compressor still doesnt work after you jumped the connections I stated, check for power at the compressor when one of the connections are jumped.
Not to sound like a know it all, but I am certifiedied in A/C repair. Always check the basics first. Did you check the fuses?

if it kicks on and off, only works when it is cold but when heats up (the motor) the evaporator core is gone...u will hear clickin in the engine bay, i thought mine was the compressor but its the evaporator...this has a sensor in it that kicks the clutch on the ac compressor on or off....
