JWT an Vermont state inspections. OBD II and scan-tool geeks apply.

Here is the deal. I own a 1999 Sentra, and I am going turbo. Problem one its a GA, lol, j/k. Problem two is a combination of it being a 99' and VT inspections. As we all know JWT doesnt/cant mod 98 and 99 OBD II ECUs. Gotta be a 96-97(correct?). Well I know that JWT can mod an early OBD II ecu and I can re-pin it to work on my car with the turbo. So there will be no problem there.

Fast forward to inspection time.
I have a 96 or 97 JWT'ed ECU in my 99 Sentra. The inspection tech hooks up his scan too(Snap-on MT2500?) An checks for MIL, codes, and rediness state on the following monitors:
Misfire
Fuel
Components
Catalyst
Heated cat(N/A anyways)
EVAP(N/A anyways)
EGR
O2 sensor
O2 heater
Air(N/A anyways)
A/C Refrig(N/A anyways)

All of these monitors must be ready or at least all but 3 for the car to pass inspection.

Question one: If he inputs into his scan that the car is a 99' will there be problems?(Chances are he does it inputing OBDII Generic anyways)
Question two: I need to know if putting in the older ECU will affect my rediness states.

Thanks much.

The only problem I can see(and that doesn't mean it's the only one there) is if the turbo kit is not certified for your car. Then it won't pass no matter what.Sorry I can't be of more help but we got rid of our smog check 5 yrs ago here so I don't have any experience.

The turbo being on the car is not a problem. VT doesnt do it like most smog tests. Its just a scan tool check. They dont even pop the hood.

Damn, I should just move to NH. I work at a shop there and have my NH inspection license.
