brake light on dash

my brake light on my dash keeps going on and off even though the e-brake is off....the light will come on some times when im driving then ill hit the brakes and it goes off...is this just a bad sensor ?? if so where is it at so i can see if its just loose...otherwise its not causing any harm so i just may leave it

same thing happened to me.....then my check engine light went out.....

so, naturally, i took off the instrument panel and replaced the check engine bulb with the ebrake bulb......

now i got no probleums.....
