Depends on how well it's engineered to meet the airflow requirements of the engine.You could just as easily make things worse instead of better without a thorough knowledge of the engineering princilpes involved in building them.This is not to say that you shouldn't try it, just be willing to have to refine your ideas and spend time and money experimenting.It would probably be cheaper and easier to swap to a more powerful engine in the end.
