odd sounds

I dunno if I'm postin this in the right place, so move me if i'm wrong....I need sum advice. For about a year now, I've heard this weird "duk duk duk" sound when I step on the brake. It sounds like I can hear the car trying to stop. I've taken it to Midas like 3 times, they've resurfaced my rotors, and got me new brakes. (I'm beginning 2 think they dont know what they're doing!) The odd thing is, throught the whole winter, I haven't heard it at all, and now Im hearin it again. At first I thought the sound was comin from the front, but I recently rode passenger in my car and now it sounds like it's comin from the back. It bugs! What could it be?

No, it's not a rattling...I don't know how to explain it..."duk duk duk" hee hee that was kinda corny, but that's what it sounds like to me! um...it's like i can hear the car is trying to stop. Like some is rotating and eventually slowing down. I thought it was the brakes, but I've taken it in twice, and they keep tellin me my brakes are fine. My neighbor says it might be my cv boot? or sumthin like that.....

it could be a wheel bearing or your axles, maybe an engine or tranny mount.

yah, like metal on metal. The weird thing is that sometimes it's real bad, and sometimes it just goes away. Is this something that I need to get fixed ASAP (well, considering I've had this problem for a while now)?

Re: odd sounds

You need to narrow the origin of the noise at least front or back...
