Hello everyone. I'm in the process of purchasing a 96 200sx SE-R. I found Rota Subzero's on Jaydm.com. They're 17x7.5 and the offset is 45mm I believe. I searched and found that the stock offset is around 40mm....so will these look weird or just not fit the se-r? I'm planning to run 225/40/17's so I'm not sure if there will be fitment issues. I've thought about running 215's but I don't want to get that bloated tire look. Any info would be must appreaciated.
I have 15 inch rota circuit 8's, at +38mm and LOVE them. I love the way they stick out (it's only 2mm more...) but it looks.. muscular.. I love it. I WOULDNT go in the opposite direction though...

You can go up to 32mm offset from the stock 40mm offset with out any problem. 43mm or 45mm. is a honda offset. On tires, 215 x 45 x 17 is the biggest you can put in there with your 17's.

215 x 45 x 17 is the most accurate in speedo readings than any size tires I've tried. For 15" go for 215 x 50 x 15. Our stock offset of 40mm will do. The 32mm offset is the maximum you can use without rolling the fender lips. Still, it depends on how low your car on the first place. If it's slamed to the ground, then forget it.
You can still buy the subzero; just buy 5mm or 10mm spacers fron H&R. That will give you a wider track.

Sweet! Thanks for the info dude. I also want to thank G Funk for that nifty tire calculator thing...cool little tool to have. Also thanks to everyone else who responded in the thread.
I had 215-40-17 on 17 x 7 +36 mm.
They looked great and I rolled lip on rear fenders so no rubbing.
On a 17 x 7 1/2 wheel +40mm is as far out as you can go.
I would go with 205-40-17 if you care about performance over looks. This is closer to stock height. the 215's are taller than stock and slow down your cars take off. I like a shorter tire, it helps gearing and improves 60 ft times.
I sold my 17's because the added weight and height made the car fill really slow. If you like the fat tire look I would go with 225-40-16 on 16 x 7 1/2 rims +40mm. This is what I am going with next time I get wheels. For now I am back on stock 15's.
