Both. The Avenir DET also has the same T25 turbo as the BB, but the main exception is the Avenir has a ball-bearing turbo. If the price difference isn't too significant, I'd drop in the Avenir.

According to www.jgycustoms.com , the Bluebird has a ball bearing t25 turbo as well. I see no difference in the two other than an age difference. Why pay 100 dollars more for a newer engine thats exactly the same and both have about 30k. Then again I personally don't know the difference between the Avenier and the Bluebird.

two thing.. one.. you cant just drop in the blue bird without tranny work.. well.. sorry.. i have the ga16de.. so i have to do tranny work for the det to fit.. but another thing.. the newer engine matters... Leagally... see.. in places like california to make a swap leagal.. you have to have the ecu and engine be of the same year or newer.. to pass the carb or possibally any other emissions tests.. now.. i dont know alot about the two different engines.. but heres an example.. if you have a 99 sentra.. you have to have the 99 or newer ecu and engine.. so that would matter.. Now.. does anyone want to fill me in on which engines were produced in what years? Travis

Well, I'm pretty sure to put a sr20de or sr20det into a 1.6ltr. chassis you need the axles, ecu, tranny, and i think some other things from the U.S. version sr20de

In California most JDM engines would not pass emission, so no matter which year engine you put in your car it will be illegal. This info only applies to California drivers, I dont know about other states' laws

Actually this is better... ok a sr20det from a gti-r specs are:Produced August 1990 to December 1994
Displacement: 1998cc (2.0 liter)
Cam type: DOHC 16 valve, chain driven cam sprockets
Bore and stroke: 86mm x 86mm
Compression: 8.3 : 1
Horsepower: 227ps at 6000rpm
Stock boost: 7 psi
Injector size: 444cc/min top feed
Turbo: T-28
Center Section: Ball bearing
Individual throttle bodies

Install into Sentra / 200SX SE-R / G20 is recommended for these AWD/FWD engines. You must use SR20DE ECU, MAFS, harness, trans, axles. Altima 2.4 liter and Sentra 1.6 liter chassis will need to find these 2 liter USDM parts to make this swap work. US ECU is sent to JWT for custom tuning. GTi-R swaps will need to rewire injector plugs to work with US 2 liter harness.

For a Bluebird sr20det specs:
Displacement: 1998cc (2.0 liter)
Cam type: DOHC 16 valve, chain driven cam sprockets
Bore and stroke: 86mm x 86mm
Compression: 8.5 : 1
Horsepower: 205ps at 6000rpm
Torque: 203 ft/lbs at 4000rpm
Stock boost: 7 psi
Injector size: 370cc/min
Compressor: T-25, 60 trim 56mm BCI-1 comp.
Turbine: T-25, 62 trim 53.8mm 0.64 A/R housing.
Center Section: Journal bearings

the only thing that doesnt need to be done with the bluebird engine is you do not need to rewire the harness
And i think that should be all the help you need!

Since I should "never speak ever again," I will give you one more tidbit of advice... Like wicked said the only difference with the Avenir is that it has a ball bearing center section

You would do a SEARCH to find one of the 638413541365743867621 other threads that discuss this topic

Not to be an ass, but this has to be one of the top 5 asked questions on this board.

exactly. it seems as this thread has nothing but a bunch of random shit thrown in it. i've seen this topic many many times in the past. there is even a write-up on how it's done and what you will need. good luck
