Question best rpm range to launch??

hey, i was just wondering what you guys have found is the best place to drop the clutch from when racing rpm wise..? i want a good start but don't want to totally destroy my clutch, tires after just a few good launches...thanks

all depends on setup, traction conditions, etc. I guess if you're NA, somewhere between 3k-5k.

i try to launch btwn 3500-4000 on my low profile tires and 4500-5000 on my drag radials.

on kumho escta...i found that lauching at 3300-3500 rpm was the best....it has the least amount of lost traction time and there is enough boost from the engine to the wheel to move you pretty quickly.....hope this helps

id suggest not dumping the clutch because if you do it at too low rpm the engine will bog, too high rpm and your wheels will spin
i have found that the best way to launch is to bring it upto about 4000rpm and then feather/slip the clutch
obviously this is not very good for the life of the clutch, but then again dumping the clutch is not very good for the transmission and clutch either.

also, is it the best to rev while in 1st..and then just drop the clutch? i have heard that it is better for the clutch and transmission to rev in neutral, then put it in first when you go..thanks again
