valvoline syntec tranny fluid?

My tranny was slightly grinding sometimes while shifting into 2nd or 3rd... I just put in valvoline syntec (they had mobil 1 but it was 75w-90 instead of 80..) and my drain plug had some little teeny tiny flecks sticking to the magnet... is this okay? there were no flakes... just little flecks ... Now the tranny shifts fine (at least a whole lot better...)

What was that really good trans fluid? redline or something?

after reading this:
http://www.nissanforums.com/showthre...smission+fluid

It say's NOT to use gl-5 under ANY condition.. and it seems like a lot of people use 75W-90 even though it calls for 80w-90..

Should I change it again to mobil 1 all synthetic 75w-90?

I want what's best for my car.

Blah.

I'd say that the little metal shavings are fine and the result of normal wear.I had big pieces of metal on the drainplug when I did the Mobil 1 change in my Frontier pickup 60k ago(like 1cmx0.5cm!)and have had no problems other than a noisy transmision. If you have problems with the tans again, it could be the blocking rings,a synchro or a shift fork that would cause the shifting problem.
