hard shifting trans!!!!!

just bought 1996 nissan 200 sx -se . 37,000 miles automatic and clean trans fliud. bought from old lady. was was not abused, why does it shift so hard. no leaks anywhere.... when compared to civic, maxima, moms geo prism it shifts hard but does not slip. HELP please!!!!

When mine shifted hard, there was a problem with the front main seal... but then there was a small oil leakage too. Is any small ammount of oil leaking?

hey i have a 5spd and it is real hard to get it into 3rd gear at freeway speeds like if i down shift from 4th or 5th i just replaced the tranny this summer(used junk yard) and installed the b&m short shifter but ive not had the problem until now. also i noticed that at high rpm's in third gear like above 5500 it makes a wierd humming sound is this connected to my problem?should i just replace the tranny again and have a company gut it out and put lsd in it this time or what please help!!as to your problem dja4260 i would check maybe replace your tranny filter, or maybe you have power buttonm or something like that depressed( i dont know the autos very well)if not then maybe your just driving it a little hard thats all

no no oil leak, i dont know if it is just the trans normal ways or ifs it fucked up. i saw your car...nice. i just got black out tints and 35% on front windows, as well as a spolior from ford escort (freebie) painted and set. buying 17 enkelis and 1.5 in lowering kit.....
