A bit more original tire question >>
I have decided to put nitto 450's on my 15 inch rota wheels.
I have generic 15 inch wheels (pep boy elcheapo's) that have 195/50/15's on them right now. They are 6.5inch wide wheels as are the rota's.
Would there be a straight line performance decrease in going to a 205 series tire? There only like $8 more expensive...
Tell me what you think.

I gotta tell ya. I had the Nitto 450's on my car. AND(this is just MY opinion) I thought they sucked!! You might want to try going with something else. If you want a decent tire CHEAP try the Sumitomo or Kuhmo's. Not bad tires for the price.
Just my .02

I have read almost nothing but good things about these tires!!
hrm
My main concern is 1) price 2) tread wear 3) performance.
I get no snow and next to no rain where I live. Based on these characteristic's: I get the nitto's for $69 a piece, and potenza re730's for $80ish..
I read bad things about potenza, and good things about nitto's,
I read good performance things about kuhmos but bad tread things.. same with falken..

Try the Sumitomo's. That's what I have right now. Heck of a lot better than the Nitto's I had. PLUS, they were around $50 a piece.
Try

I have Falken ZE-502 tires, 195-50-15 which i use for the spring/summer season. They have a pretty good wet/dry grip and treadwear. I have about 10k miles of use on them with minimal signs of wear. Paid like $54 each @ tires.com, i like them good bang for your buck...

lets recalll that these are the same tires on the "new" but not improved civic SI, yes the one that needs more room to 60-0 than a H2....
