Timing procedure for S4's

Hi guys! I'm having some issues about setting the timing on my car. I have S4 with s3/s4 prog with jwt 50 shots. For some reason my car wont go into timing mode. I never had a problem with my old s3's before. This one for some reason, is a pain in the ass.
This is what I did:
I reved it for 2 min. at 2k rpm, blip the throttle 3x to 3500rpm? Turn off ignition, remove tps and start the car, adjust idle to 950rpm, check timing (set if necessary) then, shut engine off, connect tps and start the car again. What did I do wrong?
I just want to ask you guys if there are any tricks that I can do to set it properly.

Try reving it 2k for 2 minutes. Then disconnecting the maf and the tps. Then reving to 3k to 3.5k. Then check the timming, then shut down. Connect everything and start it back up.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I've been pulling my hair for 2 days now trying to set the damn thing. I'll try this one and see if it will work.

No problem. The only thing I can think of that woud cause it not to go into mode, would be that your not turning off all accesories. This needs to be done under No load. Hope this helps bud.
