You can get a part custom made so that when it rains you can take the filter and place it in the engine bay on the pipe that comes from the TB. You should get the bypass valve for peice of mind. they are only 40 bucks. go on NPM and search fot it they have done a reveiw on it recently.

if it is regularly a typical rainy day, a bypass valve isnt usually necessary, there are guys on here who have said it would rain all week and nothing happens...your car has to be submerged in deep amounts of water for your filter to touch, being as there is a plastic guard in your fender well on the underside of your car(not the tire splash guard) its very hard for the CAI to accept large amounts of water making a bypass valve not necessary in the case but its just something to reassure you in case a serious flood happens.

^This is exactly it. Just dont drive your can into a flood, or high standing water. I wouldnt want to do that anyway, even if I didhave a bypass thing. But I live in Florida, and It can rain alot in the summer, I had no problems.

If you don't want to keep worrying about it and be 100% sure, I'd get a bypass valve if I were you, just to get rid of the phobia. I'm waiting for Injen to finally release the second gen. bypass valves.
