Need !HELP! from exp. welder

i want to put my old exhaust back on. 2.5 is way to big and its pissing me off. the pipe is not bad. it has the normal signs of age and weathering of an 8 year old pipe. no holes or anything. the bolts (i think they are welded to the flange) that connect the mid pipe with the muffler pipe are stripped. my question is... is it possible to cut the whole flange off with the bolts and just replace the flange? if this... is it possible to weld old pipe? or would it be easier and save me some money to just drill out the bolt and replace it with slightly bigger bolts with washers and lock-nuts? any help is appreciated

yes, u can weld to the old pipe....but it wont be pretty unless u prepare it really well.

use some anti-seize when u install the new hardware.

ok, would the "drilling the bolt" thing be ok or would i get exhaust leak eventually?
