Rear Power window console

Okay i asked Justin (1997GA16DE) to get me a PW console for my right rear door and so he did. I live across the country so i couldnt just take it back.
It turns out the harnesses are different but the rest is identical. If it matters the harness that came with my car was black and the one justin got me was a white harness that detached from the console which im assuming was for convenience therefore it came from a newer B14.
I took apart my existing harness by disconnecting the 5 wires. I followed the wiring diagram in the haynes manual but it still didnt work. I know that power runs through the wires cause my passengers could still roll my window down but it wouldnt go back up. When i connected them, my dome light would flicker and get a buzzing sound instead of the sound you hear when you turn the key all the way or have the door open.
What should i do?

Okay now i found out there is a 5 pin and an 8pin adapter for the switch. Originally, my car had the 8 pin adapter which the switch is broken and i got sent a 5 pin. Both have 5 wires though. How come it doesnt work.

Because it's the wrong connector. My guess is that the 8 pin controls/works with some other feature which is why your experiencing those other funky electrical issues. Get the correc harness and swap it back. It's like a $15 part from a junk yard.
