Check engine light came on after use of AC??

The other day I accidentally hit my AC button when turning up the heat. As soon as I did that my car quit. Then I started my car back with the button depressed and it quit again. So that kind of confused me. So I started it back and it quit again, etc.. So i kept the RPM's revved up and drove down the road and it was fine after that? Then the next day I showed one of my friends what would happen if I turned on the AC to get their opinion, and it did the same thing, except after that time the Check Engine light came on... Any ideas will be appreciated? Also my car is running fine, no unusual noises, smells, etc.. thanks.

Why dont you pull the error code from the ecu. That should give you a hint to what is going on. Here is a link on how to manually pull the error codes from your ecu.

mine did that last summer until i advanced my timing. it's funny, cuz a week after messing with the timing my friend turned it on while i was driving and i got pissed thinking my car was going to shut off and i was going to keep the revs above 1000rpm. but i was surprised when it actually worked. it has worked ever since that hot summer day. it was fucked up for almost a year.
