Lightweight aluminum flexplate???

I was wondering, since a flexplate for an auto transmission and a flywheel for a manual are similar, if one could custom make a aluminum flex plate? I am looking at this from a fuel economy standard, not really for power although it may free up a bit. The Sentra make about 115hp, so not enough to warrant a strong steel one. My CRX has an aluminum flywheel and it revs much easier but also get great fuel economy. However it is a bit twitchy idling around a parking lot if you aren't paying atention to the gas pedal. Wondering if anyone has any ideas on this idea, or who may be able to cut one out of aluminum. I drive about 100 +- per day, so any more mpgs would be great. Looking into a FG hood, and those hideous fenders.

I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two. That's what Brian Boitano would do.
