Angry Warping Rotors?

Sorry, I'm a , but I didn't find anything really obvious in a search, just to check my torque on the wheels. I did use a Torque wrench when I changed them last, as did the tire place when they rotated them - I watch to make sure they do.

My Sentra appears to be eating rotors for breakfast for some reason, and I'm looking for a place to look for a problem.

I'm getting a 'squeak, squeak, squeak' that varies with speed when I'm on the brakes. It slows down as I slow, etc. I don't feel anything in the pedal. This problem first cropped up a few months ago, and since I felt it was a warped rotor, I went over to Autozone and picked up a new set.

It appears that one of the two rotors had been replaced previously, as they were not the same. I have no idea when this was done, but it was more than 2 years ago (how long I've owned this car). As the car's 12 years old, it could have been more than once, no way for me to know.

After I replaced the rotors, I had the tires rotated and balanced. One of the fronts was way off balance, so I ASSumed that was what had caused the rotors to warp. Whoops. (I don't know if it's one or both of the rotors that was warped, though I'll find out tomorrow, I still have them & am going to take them to work and run an indicator)

After the replacement, rotate, and balance, everything was good for a couple days. I don't think it's ever felt that smooth as it did that day.

Unfortunately, a couple weeks later, the squeaking came back. It began quietly, but has gotten worse. It got MUCH worse on a 5 hr each way road trip I took last weekend.

I've thought about Bearings, Ball joints, Sticky Calipers (I'd think I'd feel that, though... it doesn't pull...), etc. My Haynes manual is of no help, which isn't terribly surprising. Any of this stuff seem reasonable, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Any thoughts???

My suggestion is to Change your brake pads for Nissan one where you get the set of anti squeal shims that you can only get from Nissan.
Or if you don't like that solution ask around for pads that don't squeak much.
To confirm its your pads you can remove them, clean with brake cleaner, chamfer the pad at the ends and maybe put a shallow grove in the middle. This will change the vibrations and either eliminate the squealing for a while or change the pitch.
Other non-likely things to check.
I assume this is not the brake pad wear squeakers ? this occurs when you are off the brakes. Check the pad thickness

Check that the dust shield is not rubbing the rotor.
Warped Rotors tend to grab as wheel rotates, and do not usually make a noise
Other than that does it change on left vs right turns ?

Good Luck.....

There's plenty of thickness left in the pads, I don't see how they could be rubbing on the squeakers. I didn't think about the dust shield, I'll check that.

It doesn't appear to change at all, but I'm not usually braking and turning at the same time, I'll check it in a few days.

I don't have the car right now, my wife has it while hers is at the dealership with a broken power window. I'm driving my Jeep instead, which is going to hurt at the pump.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

Sadly, I forgot to bring the old rotors to work today to check for runout...
