'98 Sentra EGR system

Hello, new here and needing help (of course)... I'm having problems with the EGR system still after replacing the EGR valve so I tried cleaning the back pressure transducer valve and believe I have damaged it. Anyone know if they are available and if there is a common problem with "98 Sentra EGR systems? Any help would be "greatly" appreciated! Thanks!

Is the check engine light on? What code is it throwing? After replacing the EGR did you also replace any rubber hoses that may have rotted out? I would also clear the engine codes after replacing the EGR since sometimes the codes don't go away on their own.

Hey, thanks for responding... the check engine light is still on and I did replace the one rubber hose to the right (I think the one that goes to the bpt valve). I did reset the engine codes but light is still on. I thought the tech that emision tested it was saying there was an "exempt" list for these cars because of a problem and yet he didn't pass it. My next step is to start replacing the bpt valve and any other sensors or parts related to the egr system I suppose...? I don't recall exactly what codes it was throwing, it all was related to the egr though.

how did you reset the ECU. i was told to power off for several hours.
Mine took 2 weeks of driving to go out after I replaced the rubber hose.

Most scanners that read the codes from the engine are able to clear the codes too. I've had 'loose gas cap' codes that wouldn't go away, I cleared the code and it stayed clear for good.
