B14 Contro Arm replacement

Hey fellas, I have been trying to keep my B14 well maintained so I can drive it and enjoy it for as long as possible. Recently the ride has been feeling particularly harsh, but there is no scientific basis for this observation--maybe I am just getting old and noticing it more.

So, I was wondering if there would be any benefit to replacing the front control arms as I imagine the rubber bushings are pretty well compressed after 11 years of service. I definitely do not want to go the urethane route as I don't want to deal with the harshness and sqeaks, just want to smooth out the ride. Thanks for any input!

It's a bit of a pain to do, IMO, but it can be done in your garage with sockets, a BFH, and some jackstands. Oh, and quite a bit of time, lol. I was told that you have to do the final torquing of the bolts while the car is on the ground, so that was what I did.
