HELP! Clutch issues 98 200sx GA16DE

Here's the scoop: I have had countless issues with my car chewing clutch cables up- like 8 in 1 yr.

I replaced the clutch with a Duralast Clutch kit from Autozone about 10k miles ago and it's not eating the cables anymore, but still feels like ****! I have to force the pedal down and it never feels smooth- it did for about 1 week after I replaced the clutch and that was it.

I tried replacing the cable again about 2x with no difference and I HAVE ADJUSTED the cable. It is always rough and stiff though.

HERE IS THE QUESTION/PROBLEM: The kit came with a pilot bearing, but it didn't fit. I tried a 2nd Duralast kit and there was the same problem. I looked in Haynes and a FSM and can't find anything that pictures a pilot bearing. Does the car use one????

PLEASE HELP! Thank you!

No, the later 1.6's do not use a pilot bearing, its in the kit for the older 1.6 cars.
I checked the sizing and it will not fit the crank bore hole.

I have the same clutch kit and replaced the cable with a Nissan cable and have had no issues with the pedal getting stiff. My original cable lasted till the clutch was changed.
Do you have the Nissan cable, others have reported that the after market ones, although cheaper are not as good.
