REPLACING TIMING CHAIN? When to do it?

My car has 148k on it. I am not sure if it's ever been changed or when to change it. Anyone have the steps in doing this? Just curious. Thanks.

Unlike belts, timing chains last a long time. The best ways to tell if it's worn is by noise or by actually checking the chain and tensioner. If it's not noisy, I'd leave it alone.
