Belt Side Squeal
Hello all...
I've been lurking for a while and this forum has really helped me a lot. Thanks to everyone.
I'm driving a 99 nissan sentra 1.6.
She's a great car and I love her to death. We treat each other right.
Recently, I've noticed a noise, a high-pitched squeal on the belt side. I first noticed it when I turned the engine off. It's become more prevalent--I can hear it when the car is idling in drive, but it stops if I put it in park. I can hear it sometimes when I drive, but I'm not positive of how it starts and stops because of traffic noise. It seems that it would stop if I accelerated, but return after a certain RPMage. Again, I can't be sure of the details while the car is moving.
Any thoughts?
What I've come up with from the search forum is this:
belts
bearings in the alternator, a/c compressor, idler tension pulley, etc...
Thanks again.
Nissan's rock!
