95 sentra california emissions cat
after doing some research this is what i have figured out:
-1995 sentra's of the california variety have only one catalytic converter that is INSIDE the exhaust manifold.
-Other year california models supposedly have 2 cats, one in the manifold and a second standard one after it.
Now my question is, if the cat i have inside my header is getting weak but is not gone, could i simply add a normal cat for around $100 after the header to reduce emissions? i know it would degrade performance slightly but i really care more about it passing smog at this point. Im only considering this because Nissan wants almost $800 for a new header with the cat inside of it. Thanks.
