MAF

alright, I searched, but couldn't find my answer, so I had to figure this one out myself.

my CEL (check engine light) kept coming on, it was the MAF sensor.

the car would hiccup, then the cel light would come on, I'd read and delete the code. it come back, I'd clean the MAF, same....

I was gonna pickup a new MAF, but decided to open up the plug. there are 4 screws that house that plug. inside, there are some metal contacts. I cleaned and adjusted them, and it fixed the problem.

the design is lame, but it looks like over time, the metal contacts give and lose contact. just bend them a bit so the contacts are snug, and save yourself the hassle of buying a new MAF.

mine was a 1996 GXE.
