First off im new to nissan and i have been searching for the past 2 months on motor swaps for this car. the motor i have in the car is on its last leg. im wondering if there would be any problems with swapping in a jdm gtir into a usdm 200sx se. and if anyone has done this and has some helpful hint or some info i would like the help. i have mostly worked on acura and hondas.

have done the swap cuz all i know is that it should be a direct drop in. and if its only the head and turbo thats different that explains the power differance.
DUDE in no way is this an easy swap ... sorry to dissapoint you but im doin it in my pals car and there are alot of clearance issues... u need to move the battery to the trunk for intercooler piping.... u need to get a front mount.... in no way is there alot of space to work on the eingine .... the wiring is a pain in the ass anyways there is alot of custom work to be done but its doable im finished all i need now is to get my wiring harness and fire her upp........GOOD Luck with the swap and be prepared to $$$$$$
its not easy but it can be done
in my opinion the easiest thing you could do would be to turbo your current engine.... other then that i dont really know my pal wanted to swap his car and im mecanically inclined so i swapped it with him if u want pics contact me with Pm messages ill show u what that Sentra has got hahaha
From a little research, they're the same motor except the head and the turbo.
GTiR's have lower compression then a bluebird motor 8.5:1 compression, ITB, t28 turbo, 444cc injectors, and different rocker arms. I think thats all that is different.
GTiR motors are good, but they're hard to find parts for. They're very old motors. I have rode in a GTiR swapped 200SX before and it didnt impress me much.
ok wat about the sr20vet would i be able to do that. the reason i was thinking abou the gtir was because it was makin 240 hp. and has anyone really done this swap that may be able to give me some guidance

How much money do you have?

If moving the battery and getting a front mount are the hardest things to worry about, then it's an easy swap. Wiring is always a pain in the ass with damn near every swap ever. I would have the wiring harness in, and tucked into the firewall before I put the motor in, just because its a pain in the ass to get to otherwise.
