Odd Problem. Help!!!!!

Hey guys I was driving last night and suddenly my battery light and e-brake light came on the bottom of the cluster. I tried stepping on the accelerator and there was resistance, but RPM's would not go up and the engine would not even rev. My car then just died. I tried starting it back up and nothing. It would turn over but would not start. I had noticed for a couple weeks it had been a little jerky when I would try and accelerate. After about ten minutes it started and away I went. WTF????? Air filter, fuel filter, battery cables????? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

Your alternator (charging system) is going south. Possibly the battery, or cables. Start checking the easy/cheap ones (cables, connections), then battery, alternator.

it could be the relay that turns on your alternator, that would explain a crank but no start, typicaly cars will not start without the alternator relay in working order, yours may be going bad, other than that i would have to say start cheakin voltages and resistances, your carging system is bad, OR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you bought a crappy napa alternator or equvilent, in these the dioed trio and rectifier bridge (turn the voltage to dc from ac) have a tendancey to go bad and begin to make to much ac volts, you can see if this is it with a dvom first test it on ac volts then on dc volts. do this right from the alternator where the wires conect. or if you have acess to a microvat or d-tach use thoes, they are just luxuries tho

I would have to second it sounds like a bad alternator or similar.

alternators seem to be one of those items you have to buy from the dealer because the autozone parts just don't last (though you do get a lifetime warranty, so free replacements...but you'll replace it a lot)
