I have a 95 sentra about 146,000 mile and it wouldn't start for nothing I could hear the starter going it sounded like it wanted to start then nothing I tried it for a whole day then I replaced the starter because I know it was old and going out and I still have the same problem please help.
agreed, we need to hear what you do have to help you, once you tell us i am sure we can diagnose the problem

ok well check it for spark, if it does have it your going to have to pick up at least a cheap fuel pressure gauge. fuel pumps are expensive so make sure you diagnose it before you change anything. also when did this start out of the blue? or have you done somthing to the car recently?

you know if you want to be even cheaper and messier, then you can just take the claps off of the fuel rail and just turn the key on and off extrealmy fast, but have a rag there to collect the extra fuel, if it comes out then you have fule to your injectors, and if you have spark,(and its blue, a good spark) and all the car does is turn over then i would say that your IACV may be clogged, thus preventing air into your cylenders, if this is the case then you can do a search on this and i know that there is an exelent write up on how to roove and clean this devise
hope this helps

well that is really a halfass way to check for fuel. i mean sure you can get fuel all over the place and risk possibly starting a fire if special care isnt taken but do you really know if you have enough pressure to start the car? for instance lets say the problem could be as simple as the fuel filter being clogged but fuel will still flow through just not enough. it really doesnt take much of a pressure drop to stop the engine from starting. a simple way to check if the iac is clogged is to simply step on the gas pedal a little while trying to start the car which im sure you have tried if it still doesnt start dont touch it.
ok so now since that person above me dont like the cheap way to findo out now ill tell you the way i was trained to do it
ok you need to pull your fuel pump fuse and turn the engine over until it stalls
then turn over the motor about 3 more times
unclamp one of your fule lines going to your fuel rail
connect a fuel presure tester to your fuel line
insert fule pump fuse and reprime fuel pump several times( you can do this by cycleing the key to the on position and off again, repeat several times)
read the fuel pressure on gauge and compare to OEM Specifications
Ok so now every one is happy

Before you spend money on gauges and the like, try this free diagnosis.
Try once again to start the car. Try 3-5 times with decent cranking times (5-10 secs)
Now pull out your spark plugs and look at them. Are they wet with fuel?
If they are you just cheaply discovered you don't have a fuel supply issue.
Leave the spark plugs out and let them and the cylinders dry out for a couple hours.
Now come back and reinstall the spark plugs and attach the plug wires.
Turn the ignition to "on" and you should hear the hum of the fuel pump for approximately
5-7 seconds.
You have a fuse in your fuse panel (not the relay!) for your fuel pump. Look at your fuse descriptions on the cover panel of the fuse box. Pull the fuse out but be ready to put it back in quickly. Try to start the engine. If it starts, you need to plug that fuse in before it dies.
Before I go any further, let me know if this works.
its easy to hear your pump if you pull out your back seat, and actuly it only primes for 2 seconds untill the PCM gets proof of rotation via cmp/kmp sensor

I check the spark plugs and I did have spark but I still replaced them and still no start. I also check the distributer and it is fine no oil all I have left to replace is the fuel pump if any other options please let me know.
One master tip: check the main battery cables and connections to both the starter and alternator. If there is ANY corrosion on the electrical cables, you may not be getting a full charge off the alternator or full power to run ignition, fuel pump, etc.
It's a relatively "simple" problem and one you can diagnose yourself.

Thanx 2 all
Before you replace anything else try this, charge battery up and then put your foot to the floor on the gas pedal and keep it there..
Then crank and crank. This will work if the car is badly flooded.
Putting the gas pedal to the floor and keeping it there tells the ECU the Car is flooded and shuts off the Gas, when it starts to run, wait till it clears and starts to rev and lift your foot.
This worked on my 1.6 GA and Daughters 2.0 SER.
