Sway Bar Removal: Should I or should I not?

ok, so, I have looked through all the links i could to find about a clanking i hear under my car. I was trying to put in the poly bushings but time constraints means that i had to put everything back stock and leave them out. in the process I stripped the threads out of the bolt hole for two of the sway bar's 4 bolts in the front. I have looked through the forums and found out that the cars may not have come with any from the factory and that they were options. (i have a 99 GXE B14). So since the sound is bugging the crap out of me every time i turn or go over a bump or accelerate or brake, I was thinking i would just remove it for now. I know its going to make the handling alot softer, but at the same time I believe it would also put my car more towards neutral right? (hey, its a small bonus for losing the performance of the sway bar) and since I have a strut bar, I was wondering if a lower tie bar would help make up for the difference? also if anyone has any info on whether there are any really major dangers of removing the sway bar in the front? thanks!

no front sway bar, well, I'd take it easy when turning. nothing too aggressive. if they sold cars without them in the market, i don't see how deleting the sway could be any dangerous. it's all up to the operator.
