'96 Sentra GXE trans problem
I just picked up a '96 GXE w/175k mi as a commuter car. The motor runs like a champ, but the trans is having issues. When in OD sometimes it goes, other times it's like it's in neutral. If I put it into 2nd, I don't have any problems with 1st and 2nd gear and when I manually shift into OD, it shifts into 3rd and the tq coverter locks up fine. When I slow down it downshifts but once it gets to 2nd, it goes back in to neutral and I have to manually put it into 2nd. Any ideas on what's causing this? The trans fluid level is fine and it looks and smells fine as well. Thanks.
