Stock Alarm?

Heres a strange one, I've owned my B14 for like 5 years now, and just recently discovered that it came with a factoy alarm. I found this out because lately the alarms been going off for no reason. A couple years ago I installed an aftermarket alarm, just for the sake of keyless entry, and when that one goes off, it makes like a beeping/chirping noise, but thats not what this is, this is just the car's horn going off over and over again. Only way to stop it is by putting the key in the drivers door and unlocking it. If no one does that, the alarm NEVER stops, keeps going til the battery dies, I've had several complaints from my neighbors. What should I do, can I just disconnect a fuse or something? Anyone else ever had this?

It's possible that something in the aftermarket alarm is screwed and causing the factory alarm to go off. Try disconnecting the aftermarket module & see if that helps any. To be honest, I've never seen anything like this. Perhaps someone else has had experience with factory alarms.

If I were to locate the fuse for this alarm and remove it, would that cure the problem? Or would it just raise more problems?

As long as the module is causing the problem, yanking the fuse should clear it up. Or just pull the connector out of the aftermarket module. Just remember that you may have to reprogram the remotes to the aftermarket system when you reconnect it.

you can only do that if your aftermarket alarm does not run of this same relay

Under the hood, there should be a fuse or relay for the stock alarm horn. You could also just disable this, in my car it is a seperate horn just for the alarm.
