NE1 else use Valvoline maxlife motor oil?

i've been using this oil in both my 00 CRV w/ 100k miles and 96 sentra w/ 101k miles, and i like it very much.. i got a whole bunch for free, but i think i'll end up using it from now on. i know a bunch of guys running this oil for their nearly new Honda S2000s b/c i heard it's formulated very similar to OEM honda breakin oil.

I used it in my old truck... was an 89 Dodge Raider. Works great, especially in older vehicles.

check the BITOG(bob is the oil guy) forums and see if there are any used oil analysis reports on that particular valvoline. Its a good place to start with oil related questions. I use whatever chevron/havoline dino oil I can get a hold of, and it seems to be the cheapo oil of choice amongst bitog forum members. As long as the oil change intervals are kept under 5k there will be wear protection comparable to a basic synth.

As long as you don't use Penzoil or Quaker State(or the corner store gas station's brand), the oil you use is probably fine. Though some are better of course. Mobile 1 and Royal Purple are good for newer cars and Castrol is good for older/high mileaged cars.
