Whinning/Whistling noise

I'm not sure which category to post this under. So I will do this under a couple.

I'm experience a whinning/whistling noise from my head unit. The noise isn't there all the time but after having my head unit on for a while I begin to hear the noise. The noise become increasingly louder as I accelerate. Noise decreases as I decelerate. If i shut the head unit off the noise goes away.
I have two 6.5" phoenix Gold 60 rms coaxial speakers powered by an audiobahn amp up front. I've muted the speakers, i've paused my head unit and the noise still remains.
Also, sometimes the noise never shows up. Or it will show up when making a sharp turn.

I was thinking it has something to do with my alternator but I no longer believe that to be the case. Could it be some kind of interference? I am running my front speakers with an amp. But the noise isn't coming from my speakers so i really have no clue.

If anyone has any ideas to what could possibly be going on plz help.

That's a tuffy. I've seen similar things installing a Sirius radio on my Honda Pacific Coast motorcycle. What did help was to remove the - connection of the radio and amp from the chassis and move it to the - terminal of the battery. I would get the same whine regardless of the volume setting. Since moving the grounds the whine only very occasional appears. I did notice before moving the wires that applying the brakes would lessen the offending noise.
