Tires

well, I need new tires and I am torn on what size to get. I want to upgrade to a very good performance tire that delivers excellent traction, handling and is good for high speeds. I have a 95 sentra gxe. I dont know whether I have 13's or 14's. I would like to upgrade to 16's or 17's. Which size tire will give me the best performance? What type of tire should I get. Any help will be greatly appriciated.

the 16's would give you the best acc. because of the simple high school physics equation for rotational momentum. that 1 inch is squared so it creates a lot of extra momentum.

I'd agree with the 15's. I've got both 15's and 16's. I prefer the look and feel of the 15's.

Personally, I went with Yokohama Avid T4's but the Ecsta's would have been my next choice.

I have SE-R 15" rims on my Sentra, with Firestone Firehawk 500 tires. The Firehawks are decent tires, but my Nitto 450s and Khumo 711s sucked. I reccommend something else if your going for daily driving.

Go for the Bridgestone Fuzions, they grip like a mother, wet or dry. And they are pretty cost effective at $90 ea.

I looked at the tires yesterday and I have 175/70/R13's. Since I really need new tires, I might buy 1 or 2 at a time since I am on a very very limited budget. Another question, Will upgrading to 16's even be possible since I only have 13's? if it is possible then what Size should I look for that is good performance wise that will fit my car. Would something like 205/40-16 fit?

To keep the same diameter basically you follow the one plus rule of thumb.
175 /70 / 13 to 185 / 60 /14 to 195 / 50 / 15 to 205 / 40 /16

You will of course need new wheels.

I suggest you follow Wes recommendation and stick to 15 inch wheels
