Steering wheel bolt

I am trying to do a cluster swap and i am finding it very difficult with the steering wheel in the way. I know it is not necessary to remove it but its just in the way. I checked the full service manual to see if i could find out how to remove the steering wheel however i cant figure out how to remove the "special" bolt that holds the airbag module in. Its like one of those star screw-drivers but it has a post in the middle. Anyone know how to get this off? I treid searching but i couldnt find an answer to this question. Thanks.

They do sell them...
Or you can lossen the column and get it to drop enough to get it out of the way.
I did not have that much of an issue with this.

I never really had that problem either.

But I felt Id better tell you, be EXTREMELY careful with that airbag. You could end up in some serious pain. Im not sure about Nissan specific airbag systems, but Id leave the battery disconnected for awhile before you mess with it.

Im sure you already know, but better safe than sorry

It is a T50H torx bit. It is also called a tamper proof torx bit. There are 4 of them to remove.

Thanks for the replys guys, especially you wes you always have the most helpful info. I decided to just do it with the steering wheel in the way anyways rather than trying to track down the tool and have to wait till next weekend. Everything went without a hitch till i tested it out. Turns out the speedo in the gauge i got was no good. so i just swapped the speedos so i have my original speedo in my new gauge cluster. It actually turned out for the beter cause i never would of thought to do that and now i have the correct mileage. I absolutly love the tach and the satisfaction of knowing i put it in there myself makes it all the better.

P.S. i picked up that tool for future needs.
