Exclamation Exhaust options?

Im looking into various exhaust options for my 96 GXE. I want to get more power out of this car but avoid the ricey sound. In the future I plan to make my own turbo setup for this car so bigger pipes would be good too. I dont know all the websites to get aftermarket performance stuff for these cars and yes I checked stickies.

One last thing, is the Hot Shot intake worth the price or would a regular cone filter be just as good?

Exhaust wise, Stromung is the best and def does not have a rice sound. I personally went with a custom bend and used a universal Tanabe muffler. Sound pretty good, really deep though. If you do go custom, doesnt look you plan on it though, make sure to use a glass pack to avoid that rice sound. Pretty much, you get what you pay for. Dont get one of the crappy Monza/Pacesetter sets. You'll regret it in about a year once it rusts out. As for the Hotshot intake, there is a fairly dramatic difference between it and just another intake off eBay. The hotshot intake is actually a cold air intake. If you dont want to spend that much though, AEM also offers a quality product for a little less. Not by much though. There is also Weapon 'R which is the cheapest...but not very many people can confirm its quality. Both of those are also CAI.

I make make my own exhaust setup and change some things around but I havent had a real good look at how the exhaust is routed underneath. So I need to pull out my jack tomorrow and take a look.

What glasspack would you suggest? On my CHevy truck it currently has Cherry Bomb mufflers that are like $30 at Shucks they got a nice tone. My truck has 2 of them but they are 2" and I am upgrading my exhaust on that to 3" Dual Exhuast so maybe I can use on of those on my sentra.

The stock exhaust pipes on the Sentra is 2" right? All the mufflers I have seen that I want have a 2.25" inlet or even 2.5" inlet. Putting those on with stock exhaust wouldnt be a good idea till I upgraded to bigger pipes right?

Actually, I believe they are 1 3/4 stock if im not mistaken. I have a B-13 though so I very well could be wrong. For performance wise, you really dont want to go larger than 2" mandrel or 2 1/4" crushed. Cherry Bombs are a really good glasspacks. I just used the shops brand of glasspack and it seems fine. But yeah, it wont do too much to stick the muffler on until you get bigger pipes, because even if the pipes are 2" already, they are more than likely crush bends.

Cool. I think I will just use one of the Cherry bombs of my truck when I upgrade it to 3" Flowmasters.

u dont want to go 3 inch pipes right off because then u will lose power unless u have forced induction via turbo w/o turbo u will be losing power

for right now wat u should do is put on like 2- 2.25 inch piping and make sure its mandrel bent b/c if it is crush bent then the flow will be disturbed and then it wouldnt be considered a straight trough exahust system

just puttin in my 2 cents

first off if you plan on turboing you car ur gonna need a completly different exhaust header. if you plan on turboing you car save the money for the turbo now instead of wasting it on parts your gonna get rid of when you do get the tubo.

I am currently saving for a turbo upgrade for my ga16de and am currently regreting the exhaust and header i bought because its useless to me after the turbo upgrade and i dont think i could get anywhere near what i paid for them.

If i had it all to do over agian, which i basically am now, saving up for the turbo and im looking into the jwt cams and head work bigger fuel injectors and a jwt ecu, i would have bought 15's instead of 17's. So just look at the bigger picture it will most likely save you alot of time and money, in the long run.

I'm running 2" with a Magnaflow on my 99 GXE Limited. Not much louder then stock, and a tad deeper.
