Trunk open, Power Wire?

Im going to need to wire a light to come on when the trunk is opened, yes just like the factory.
Is there a relay or something I should tap or just splice into the wire before the factory trunk light?

Depends on what you are trying to power. You can use a relay if needed, otherwise you can just wire it straight in.

Wire it straight into what? My 98 also doesn't have a trunk light. If it's not to pricey I might add one.

I just wanting to add some cold cathode lights for a audio install, since theres no reason to have them on all the time I thought it would be nice to have them come on when the trunk opens.

So just splice into the power wire that right before the factory light?
