Temprorary Rice Sound Question

I want a ricey sound until summer comes when i can put on a full exhaust system and flowmaster muff. but for now I want cheap loud sound. So i saw this " boom tube" exhaust tip at a store and wondered if the size of it matters, like do i need a specific size to get it to fit, i know it has to be welded on. the tip comes in 2 sizes, 3 x 12" (8 x 30 cm) or 3 x 16" (8 x 41 cm). this is for 95 200sx se

how much is it going for? if it goes for around $20-$50, just go on ebay and get one of those cheap mufflers. i got mine for $25 shipped, it actually sounded good..not obscenely loud but deep and has got balls. that way, if you liked the sound of the muffler, you can just keep it and save some $$ when you replace your exhaust.

...just curious...why do you want a nasty sound? trying to appreciate the good sounding exhaust you will soon put on more?

.02 keep it quiet for now, no need to rice out a car for no reason, unless that's what you like then go for it...but really...why? again..just curious

well i want cheep fast noise until summer, and i dont want to wait that long. why not get the full exhaust system now? i dont have the money and i dont want to drive around with all this road salt and shit with money spent on the exhaust, in time ill have a winter beater but for now this is the daily driver. I just want to experience the rice sound till the snow is gone. hence the name temporary rice sound lol. and btw, its not that bad, im not buying a 6'' inch can that i can put a watermelon in. this isnt so rice, i think putting false emblems on my car and sticking a neon tube on my front dashboard is rice. this may not sound good like a real exhaust and I KNOW THAT. please i asked a question on here, i know what im getting into. Just need information

Information? What information could you possibly need? If you want it loud and ricey, just cut off the muffler... I mean what do you care - you are putting on a new exhaust anyways. If you just put the big tip on a stock muffler(what it sounds like), it won't really sound any different.

well my honda has stock exhaust up until the muffler...it's gone and there is a glass pack...oh yeah the resonator is gone too...it sound horrible...it was done 2 years ago by a "friend" and I haven't had the time to change it...I have a muffler I'm gonna put on to quit it.

From experience...it sounds good inthe car...but once you hear it passing you by (friend of mine did this for me, cause I wanted to know what it really sounded like) and man...I was pissed...sounds horrible...kinda funny though...I'm to lazy I guess but I know it sounds bad and I didn't actually do it...I did on my 240 and she sounds puuuurty

Not doggin ya man...have at it...

Don't just cut the muffler off...you won't pass inspection...well in texas anyway...have to have something with baffling...glass pack will work I believe...last two inspections were done at shady shops HA HA

just go get a cheapo apc fart can and take out your resonator...I'm not talking about the cat...the resonator is another stock exhaust componant, welded in, and is just a larger round pipe (like a glass pack kinda, but different material)...the fart can are actually larger resonators...

Lmao, it's an exhaust tip. Use common sense. It won't do shit if you go bigger or the same size. It's not even part of the exhaust system, it's cosmetic.

To answer your question that seems so important and difficult, If it is being welded you can get the same size...if you are clamping it on ,can be welded this way as well, it needs to barely fit over the pipe(this means the inside of the tip/muffler needs to be the same size as the outside of your exh pipe)... There happy?

You're talking about getting a humongous tip, to try to make your car look as ricey and lame as you can. It won't do anything to change your sound if it's a ricey big tip on the exit piping of the muffler. You asked for advice/answers, you got them. Call the wambulance or quit your whining.

try to race some one in a lincoln continental... i did today and the force from acceleration on the old factor cali style header/cat combo broke off the mid pipe so now i have headers and its loud annoying and if you rev it up at redline a small flame comes out and the backfires and well its not a good thing but loud obnoxious and you dont have to listen to anything but the car.

Maybe you could attach a speaker under your exhast that goes ..

"RAWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR "

or it could play a sound clip of a get taking off

Everytime you accelerate.

Lol, just wait until you get your stuff in the summer =p

I hate those freaking things

Or you could just stick your head out the window and scream REAL loud as you pass by cars, people, whatever. Make sure you throw in a "pish" sound when you shift to simulate that BOV effect. That will make your car sound fast as hell, I'm sure.

Won't impress a single person, though. Get plenty of laughs though. Even from Honda people.
