with this being said, what should I ask for my 99 Gxe?
Ok so I am going to sell my sentra, but I need help on what to ask for it? Here is what’s wrong and what’s been fixed recently.
Bad things
(1) Headliner is starting to get bad
(2) No sun visors
(3) Passenger side door has scrape damage (can be patched wont need to replace the door)
(4) Front passenger side fender needs to be patched isn’t bad, just a small scrape there also
(5) Hood is damaged (I think it will need to be replaced)
(6) Front bumper was damaged when the hood was damaged (has a small circle in the bumper where the Sportage exhaust tip hit it at, its just a cut and the center is still there so might be able to patch and paint)
(7) Front windshield is cracked (125.00 at the windshield shop here)
Good things
(1) I just did the full tune up on the car/plugs/wires/cap/rotor/air and fuel filter
(2) Rear main seal was just fixed
(3) Front main seal was just fixed
(4) Transmission service was done less than 6,000 miles ago
I will put some pictures up later so everyone can see the damage so they will have a better ideal of what I should ask.
The car is a 99 GXE with the special edition/limited sentra stickers on the front fenders
Power windows/locks/mirrors/Sony am-fm-cd player/has the upgrade seats not like the base Gxe ones,
The car runs and drives like a new car still, the mileage is right at 140,000
If I take care of the repairs it needs what should I ask?
If I sell like it sits what should I ask?
Why don't you keep it? Selling it will probably fetch only 2-3k..
Plus, if it's all cosmetic damage, and including the windshield, it'd cost a pretty penny to repair. If it's mechanically fine, keep it and continue to use it.
agreed. all said probally mid too high 2. i agree with the person above. realisticly it is just going to be a money pit too sell it. if you keep it you can just drive it until it dies. and probally save money doing it that way. but if you are just fed up with it and dont mind getting rid of the car for cheap sell it.

Take it to Carmax and get an offer as a low ball, add $500 and there you are, bobs your uncle....
Wow some people from the metro in the Nissan forums! That’s awesome! I got some figures on getting the repairs I need to have done, the cost of the lowest was 635/mid was 875 and high one was 1460, quite a difference in prices for the high one, but they don’t do any “cheap sorry Bondo work” we only replace panels as Bondo is never a good thing and wont ever look right. I have seen bad jobs with Bondo and jobs where you couldn’t tell unless you did the magnet test.
I think I have choose to go ahead and keep the Little Sentra since it’s a cheap car and its in decent shape, and when I want to feel sporty, I can just drive the G35 or the Maxima.
The Sentra was a life saver at the end of January as I wrecked the G and the Maxima has 87k and is due for its first timing belt and I haven’t had time to get it to the shop and I was deathly afraid to drive it!
Davido, since your in Norman I thought I would mention where I get my car’s serviced at maybe it will help someone else save a ton of money also. There is a guy in a small town about 30-40 minutes south of Norman “Wynnewood” he only works on Nissan-Infiniti’s and also sells all makes of cars, he works for the local police department there and has always done an awesome fast turn around job on my cars, for the 94 Maxima the timing service here in Okc was going to run 550-600, and he does them for 300.00 for the same service and unless he’s really busy his turn around on that job is a day. Let me know if you want his info, I have it someplace here, or I can call my mother they take there Maxima and J30 and Hardbody truck there for service since they live there.
I believe that my timing upper tensioner is going bad on my little Sentra I noticed tonight that between 2000-3500RPMS that she has a little growl ticking sound from that area of the car, I will have to check that out in the am, I am still not sure as if I should just replace it if its bad or just go ahead and do a complete timing kit on her since she has some miles on her, at least the Sentra is still able to be worked on in the yard or my garage unlike most newer cars so that’s a major perk for keeping it also I guess.
