New member 2 Questions

Hi Everyone, im a 26 yrs old Nissan Enthusiast from Portugal (that small country next to Spain) I'll try to explain myself in my rusty english and awful grammar!
I have a ´99 GA16DE Sentra (we call it Almera in Europe), manual transmission and 130 000 Kilometres or 80 000 miles on it.

Now the 2 questions;

1- Yesterday I saw one oil spot (2 inches) near the oil filter, but I don’t know the cause… the engine does not loose any oil (I check the oil lever every 2 weeks), so I ask you, could it be a loose oil filter (but the oil spot is near there, bellow the IACV valve, not on oil filter) or the oil pressure sending unit? I’ve checked the valve cover gasket it’s ok, and there´s no oil on the engine "side walls"… strange

1- I still have the original clutch, but recently after some abusive driving (without braking much ) I got that rubber burn smell, (I replaced the discs and the brake pads 1500 miles ago so I presume that they are bedded ), the clutch doesn’t slip and I don’t loose power on hills, so here’s my question, What’s the best way to tell the difference? (Between the pads and the clutch)

Thank you in advance

i dont know how to tell you exactly, but a clutch smells really bad, maybe like someone pee'd in their pants. Well if you want to really know what it smells like go to a car dealship and "test drive" a car and just hold the clutch halfway at its grab point and rev the car high but dont let the clutch disengage. it smells really awful. you should be able to tell then on your car. sorry internet only allows so much explaination and its hard

Welcome aboard! Your English and grammar are better than most of the people on this forum.

Since you did abusive driving "without much braking" and the brakes are bedded, I suspect the clutch caused the smell. I wouldn't worry about it yet since the clutch doesn't slip and maintains power on hills. However, considering that it's the original clutch with significant mileage I'd keep an eye (and nose) on it.
