eh im expensive when it comes to an oil change i get this stuff from europe and it is amazing but it makes moths suddenly spawn in your wallet... if u get my drift but this oil that i get is a full synthetic that is better than mobile one and i go about 7k before i change the oil and when it comes out its not really that dirty but its like around 7 bucks a quart almost if not more
so it will rape u in the ass if u hav no money caz really ur not supposed to go from synthetic to regular oil caz that will f up ur engine it happened to a buddy of mine

Reason: spelling
honestly these motors do not ned a full synthetic oil. i use the gtx high millage 10-30 in my g/f gxe sentra and the motor loves it. smooth and quiet as ever.
you need to be careful about switching a high mileage car over to synthetic oil, it's very common for all kinds of mysterious leaks to develope if the engine hasn't been very well taken care of. If you do switch to full synthetic you need to let the regular oil drain until no more will drip out. take off the oil filler cap, remove the drain plug, go inside and eat a sandwich, take a nap, go check the car, if it's still dripping, even just a little bit, go back inside and fart around on the computer for a few hours. Once ALL of the regular oil has drained out, then you can put in the synthetic, the two will not mix.

In my experience with quite a few different cars this has NEVER been an issue. The two oils will mix just fine and as long as the engine has been maintained leaks should not just suddenly develop. It is not as if you are switching to water here....
Synthetic oil is made of the same stuff as regular oil. Why wouldnt they mix?
They're different at a molecular level. Picture two surfaces rubbing together with ball bearings in between them, that would be synthetic. Now picture it with gravel, which would be normal oil.
Crude (no pun intended, ahaha) interpretation, but it works.
The problem comes with the synthitic beinga cleaner oil and will clean the inside of the engine. sometimes there is a bunch or build up around seals and the synthetic will disolve this and then an old seal may leak.
Hey if you like synthetic then use it. i run it in my 1985 300 zx that has 57,000 miles and have not had a problem.
I am using Valvoline Max Life in my daughters 99 Sentra. It uses oil and I am going to replace the retangular gasket under the valve cover this week as talked about on other posts.

my b11 had 129,800 miles on it when i switched to synthetic 135,900 miles as of now.No leaks at all 6100 miles later
I can't say anything about my 200sx's engine(as it only has like 40k miles on it - obviously no leaks), but I switched my Cougar over to synthetic when it had 158k miles, it now has 198k miles and is still running strong with no leaks! It has already been said, but yes synthetic and standard oils can be mixed...oil companies do it all the time - what do you think a synthetic-blend oil is made out of? Synthetic and.....? lol
