SR20DET??

I'm considering swapping my Sr20de to the DET.

I'm looking around and I see different types of that engine. Can someone explain the differences on that engine and which one is the newer/better one to get?

Thanks

So... from what you've posted you want to take out your sr20 and replace it with a already turbo'd sr20? I would just throw a turbo kit on your sr20 cause im not really sure if there is any more differences.

This has been covered many times on here already... Your basic sr20det fwd swaps are the Blue bird, avenir, and gtir. The BB swap is the most common, usually found in u12, and u13 versions(u13 being the newer of the two), Then there is the avenir sr20det swap(I don't know a ton about it - as I have never dealt with an avenir). Both the bluebird, and avenir are very similar to an sr20de...same valvetrain design, uses the same gaskets, etc, most if not all of the internal parts will interchange. Next in line is the n14 Pulsar gtir swap - The best swap as far as fwd det swaps go. The gtir engine has quad throttlebodies, larger main cap bolts, head bolts, and flywheel bolts. The other main difference on a gtir is the valvetrain - all of the other det's, and de's use hydraulic valvetrain, while the gtir uses a mechanical valvetrain. The basic breakdown...stock for stock the gtir is your best bet. However due to the differences in the gtir, performance parts such as cams, head/main cap studs, etc are harder to find as they need to be gtir specific. With the bluebird you can use pretty much all de parts, not to mention the fwd det has its own large selection of upgrade parts! It really comes down to what you can afford, and what you want.
