Is the SE-L considered a B14 SE-R?

I'll be buying a 99 Sentra SE-L soon and was wondering if 200sx SE-R parts will be compatible. Mainly the HKS sport exhaust and the Tein coilovers.

some parts yes, but not everything. The things you mentioned will be fine though.

What are some things that won't fit? I assumed the exhaust would be a problem because the body might be longer or something. But that's cool.

Yo, I own both a B14 Sentra and a 200sx. So the other day I parked them EXACT side-by-side and you know what... they are the same size!

Crazy huh!

Not to put you on the spot or anything Brandon, but all things being equal (ie. a 200sx SE-R Vs. Sentra SE-L) exactly what parts will not / do not fit???

sideskirts are differnt, also some skirts flare up in the rear which would block the sentra rear doors. I'm not sure what all would be differnt, but MOST should be compatialbe.

DAMN! You're right... the OEM side skirts are 2 pieces the front segment is identical on both cars but the rear segment must be longer or different for some reason. I just looked it up and the rears are indeed different.

Ok ok ok... that's ONE, got anymore or would you say they are like 99.9% identical?

wait, wait, wait. back to the exhaust. I have been putting off getting one for my 98 SE for about, oh, I don't know, THE WHOLE TIME I'VE OWNED MY CAR, cuz no one made any for my car and the 200sx exhaust descriptions always said "not for sentras", and I was reluctant to have one made. now i hear that they are the same?

maybe they meant not for GA16 sentras?

lets look at the facts.
(confirmed from se-r.net)
wheel base is the same [99.8 in]
length differs by 0.9 inch [170.1 vs. 171.0 inch]
chassis is the same, so, naturaly, undercarriage layout should be the same, right?

now, I know for a fact that my cat differs in length from the 95 to 97 SE-Rs (i'm not sure how much though). yet alot of the exhausts being sold say they are for 95 to 98 se-rs and wil not fit sentras. so is this an ignorant statement or is it accurate? (since the 98 sentra se and 200sx SE-R have the same cat, and have the same length and wheel base wouldn't the exhausts be compatible?)

I also know that my hotshot gen 3 header fits any B14 SE-R/SE/SE-L. so that must mean that the length of the cat would have to be added/ subtracted from the cat-back length to get a perfect fit. or perhaps the length change is insignificant enough that it doesn't matter.

can anyone confirm/deny that aftermarket 200sx SE-R cat-backs fit sentra SE's/SE-L's

Yes they DO fit. The only difference for you is the lenght of the frotn pipe and cat. Stromung makes probably THE nicest exhaust and has two different exhausts depending on what model year you have.

I learned the hard way, that a black interior door panels, from an SE-R, or any 200sx for that matter, DO NOT FIT MY SENTRA.

Not to sound too smug... but the doors are completely different sizes; a quick glance could have saved ya the trouble here.

SORRY...

pretty close. I know that the 200sx seatbelts won't fit a sentra either.

It really makes doing a tan to black interior swap on a sentra hard because of the interior differences.
