Sound's like a simple problem around the brake pedal area. The pin on the brake light switch has to be actuated by the brake pedal arm and for some reason there is a rubber plastic cap right at that point......so.... when it falls out the switch can't be touched by the pedal arm. If you get down there with a flashlight you'll see how to fix it easily, you just need something to fill the hole that has been left in the pedal arm

Well, I didn't find this thread until AFTER I had broke the stop light switch (in trying to remove it). So, what's the trick to getting the stop-switch out? Also, I bought two of the plastic plugs which go in the holes on the pedal arm (at frickn five bucks each!), and I'm curious as to which way they go in. It would seem logical for the fat end to be the one on the switch-arm side, but I haven't been able to get the darn things in that way. Any help would be appreciated.
