1998 200 SX SE-R Clutch Problem
My clutch became very stiff a while back and so I sprayed it with WD-40 (right where the cable goes through the firewall) and it became much easier to press. About a week later on a particularly cold morning I went to press the clutch in and the damn cable snapped about 10 inches from the clutch lever on the transmission. I bought a new cable and put it on but now its as stiff as it was before the WD-40 treatment. I did notice that after the clutch cable snapped I was able to move the clutch lever (on the transmission) about 15-20 degrees out and then when I pulled it back in it would click. The sound reminded me of some sort of metal tab being pulled over spring metal. The click happening when the spring metal snaps past the metal tab. Anyway that's the best way I can describe it. I'm not sure what the problem is, anyone have any ideas?
