Need new tires for my 95 sentra - lowered/negative camber-opinions needed.
since winter is around the corner i thought to myself .."it would be nice to replace my completly smooth, bold tires before winter".
I had the Nankang (or however you spell that) tires (they came with my 17s) for about 10 months and they are bold, i mean completely smooth lol. Had to pop my 13s back cause i had no traction in the rain , and I live in NJ so the weather is crappy.
My current setup is:
17" Rims with 205/40/17 tires
KYB AGXs all around with Tein S. Tech springs: 2.4" drop front, 1.1" drop in the rear.
Since none of the shops around here want to or can do alignment on my car I've been driving with the negative camber since i put the 17s on which was last December.
Since I dont think ill be doing alignment anytime soon, i just need 'OK' higher performance all season tires that would last me another 6-10 months with my current setup.
Been looking at
Fusion HRi
Continental ContiExtremeContact
Kumho ECSTA ASX
If anyone had any experience with any of those tires or any other tires that would be in the same price/performance range let me know. Thanks
I've had ECSTA's on my car since i bought it. I've been happy w/ them. I know some people like to call them "trash-ta's" but they're fine for 'ok' performance. I've been through a winter season w/ them and havent had any problems.
If you want a setup to last you 6-10 months, why not just get used tires? they're cheap as balls. and i'm sure you can find some that will last you for a few months.

well i was browsing tirerack and some new tires are about $60 or $70 which is pretty good, i really just need the tires for the winter cause my car is a pain in the butt to drive , it hydroplanes too much on sh*tty tires
Normally negative camber is not the issue. WHile it can wear tires over time. Toe is usually what causes very quick tire wear. You NEED to get an alignment done, you are simply dealing with the wrong shops. It shold be cheap also given that you can only do an alignment on the front of the car.
USe the phonebook to find a shop that actually sells wheels/tires/ and suspension components. 99% of the time they will do an alignment on just about any car. Besides your car is nothing crazy in terms of an alignment.
FWIW I was able to get my car within stock specs on Eibach sportlines for camber, caster, and toe. This was WITHOUT camber bolts or plates.
You will spend more money in tires over the long run than if you take the time to find a shop to do an alignment and pay them the $65ish to do it properly.
i know that it is cheaper to do do alignment than to keep getting tires, but ...the shops dont want to deal with my car becuase they canj't get it up on the lifts... too low (i got a body kit too)
