Ok that was weird, i dont smoke in my house so i usally go outside and sit in my car(1996 Nissan 200SX-SE to enjoy a cigrette. i was just out there, the car was off(no keys in the ignition) and i had my door open w/ the inside light on. about 3/4 of the way though my smoke i heard a long beep followed by a very faint click. The beep lasted about 9 seconds and was coming from the rear of the car, when i stuck my head out the door i could no longer hear it but when i pulled my head in i could then it stopped and there was a VERY faint click. I dont know if your all familer with car audio systems, but to me it sounded like a 80 HZ tone, like the one i use to adjust my amp gains for the sub. now you have to understand i live out in the middle of nowhere, the closest Mcdonalds is like 35 miles away. the was nothing outside but me, my car, and nature. anyone have anyidea?
I would re-check your ground for your subs, sounds like you have some type of audio leak, did you put your ear to the sub? Also do you have an aftermarket radio, I'm guessing you do, some of those come with built in security that beeps when you turn the car off, maybe it's doing it on it's own now. Hope this helps.
Yes i had a similar problem after putting in a new deck, def. check the grounds on all your audio and also find out if you deck could have the built in alarm. It may also be a short, thats what my problem was in my deck and everytime i opened my door it would beep.
Good Luck finding out the source of it i wish you the best of luck
i dunno, see the weird thing was that every think was off. it could be a ground but i know the amps are down good. as for the deck security feature, i have that disabled, ive ruled out the system b/e all my speakers are hooked through amps, and without the deck on, none of the amps are getting power, i asked a mechanical friend and he said i was tripping, we'll c later tonight. ill let u guys know
Did you install the HU? When I installed an RF modulated changer I found that the stock harness doesn't have a ground wire and I had to tap to an existing screw. If you didn't do it the person that did may not have chosen a good ground point. Just my $.02.
actually i did mount the head unit, but i read somewhere that connecting the cd player to the harness grounds it(?!). i did not add an extra gorund wire, thanks ill check it tomorrow

Actually......... i think i may have added a gound.... gotta check that out
Now that you mention it the stock HU grounds through the antenna. That is why the stock harness doesn't have a black to match the conversion harness. I was doing t-taps anyway so I just threw a ring terminal on the modulators ground and probably just used the HU mounting screw to get ground. Just simple things that can eliminate some of the Qs. We all know bad grounds can do goofy things.
