big dissappoinment

right now i own a base model 98 200sx... no power, no sunroof, no a/c.. its relatively light... i got this friend that is going to sell me a 1998 nissan sentra SE which has power everything and ac, but the only bad thing is it weighs in at over 3500 pounds!!!!!.. i know its a steal at a 1000 bucks.. i need to either rebuild the eninge or get a new one.. and it needs a new front bumper and a pretyy big dent removed.. i wanted to swap in a sr20ve in the sentra but with all that weight i dont think its worth the money, and i dont wanna strip anything.... i could always use the sentra as a parts car tho so i can swap a sr20 to replace my ga... how intensive woudl that be????? im really tempted to sell both cars and get a gs-r swapped hatch

dude. what the hell are you talking about?

ain't no Sentra ever made weighs 3500lbs. that 98 Sentra SE prolly tips the scales at 2400lbs or something.

BTW, the 98 SE has a GA16DE. Only the 99 SE-L had the SR20.

for a sentra, didn't the SE trim always have the 2.0?? the L in SE-L seems to be just for marketing and some trimmings, but still has the 2.0.
the 200 on the other hand, has the SE-R with the coveted 2.0 and the SE is just the 1.6 with the dress up.

iirc, the only B14 Sentra with the SR20 was the 99 SE-L.

I dunno man......maybe you just haven't heard what other cars weigh that kind of weight. Hell, even new corvettes are merely 3100lbs or so.......3500lbs is a lot. I don't even think the new Maxima weighs that much.

1998 Sentra SE had the SR20DE in it ( I have the factory 1998 Sentra and 200SX brochures to back it up too!). The 1999's were SE-L's because Nissan has done a limited edition car in the last year of a Sentra body style in both the B13 and B14. There is also a GA16DE powered Limited edition Sentra in 1999, as well as in 1994 when the B13 was in it's last year. Both GA powered LE's had the SE-R interior ( As did the 1991-94 Sentra SE, and 1995-98 200SX SE)
BTW, a 200SX SE-R weighs 2,586 lbs for a manual, 2,648 lbs for an automatic in 1998. ( I misplaced the Sentra brochure)

First and formost NW STOP cussing in every post. It is not necessary, regardless of your posts content you are only making yourself look stupid by doing so.

ALL B14's 98 & 99 with an SR20 did not have an LSD.

As far as curb weight if you searched a little harder you may have found this...
