Alright, I'm looking to swap the poor automatic excuse for a transmission out of my 1998 Nissan Sentra SE, and swap it for a 5spd. I don't claim to be anything more than a novice.. so I'm just wondering how possible that is, what kind of work I'd have ahead of me, and where I can go to learn more about tranny swapping. = )
It is not that difficult of a process in a FWD car. You need the manual transmission, shift linkage, shifter, clutch pedal, clutch cable, pressure plate, clutch plate, throw-out bearing, and all vaccuum hoses associated with the tranny itself. I have a GA16DE in my B12 Sentra, and since I used the tranny from the B12, I have no vaccuum lines running to it. I believe the B13 and B14 Sentras have vaccuum lines or hoses coming off the tranny... but I am not sure.
Don't forget the starter, axles, ECU ( optional, but it runs better with it changed), front crossmember, dogbone mount, trans mount ( I think) , flywheel...etc. There is an in depth article on it in a previous issue of NPM..... That's where I learned the list from.

I know this thread is a little old, but I swapped auto to manual on my 98 200sx se-r that has the same sr20 motor and it really wasn't that hard(and i don't have a big auto background at all). Just be sure to research a LOT and make sure you have all the parts to begin with. I wrote a little bit of info on it here, http://www.sr20trannyswap.zoomshare.com
